Natural Cures for Herpes
While research is looking promising, you are probably well aware of the fact that herpes does not currently have a true cure. When inactive, the virus hides in your nervous system, out of reach of today’s medicine. This means you always have some herpes in your body. Especially if you’ve been recently diagnosed, I know personally that this fact can begin to burn a hole in your mind. But if your definition of cured means living a normal life, free from the fear of outbreaks and symptoms, then rest assured, herpes can indeed be “cured.” There are many lifestyle and treatment options available, that many call natural cures for herpes. Some are more effective than others. This article will help you to understand how herpes works, and what natural cures herpes responds to.
Finding the Right Natural Cures for Herpes
Herpes varies greatly from individual to individual. Some people will never see a symptom, some will have outbreaks every few weeks. But what we need to understand about herpes is that it is an opportunistic virus, which means it attacks when we are weak. In a straight death-match between herpes and our immune systems, our bodies reign supreme. After being whooped, the herpes virus musters what remaining forces it can and retreats until it thinks we are weak again. So knowing this, all it takes to find natural cures herpes will hate, is to keep our bodies strong. In my experience with herpes, this is a two staged battlefield.
Natural Cures: Herpes - First Stage
The first stage is simply keeping our immune systems healthy and functioning. This can actually be a blessing in disguise. If you choose to live unhealthily with herpes, chances are you will be living with herpes. Things like smoking and eating fast food suppress our immune systems and give herpes an opportunity to show its ugly face. One of the most powerful natural cures for herpes I’ve found is understanding l-lysine and arganine. L-lysine is an essential amino acid that has been shown to retard the growth of the herpes virus. At the same time, arganine is required by herpes to reproduce. Increasing your lysine intake and decreasing arganine intake is one of the first things anyone looking for natural cures for herpes should do.
There are quite a few pills on the market claiming to be natural cures for herpes, and I haven’t had much luck with any of them. However, in keeping with the theme, supplementing your diet with a multi-vitamin, vitamin C and an L-lysine supplement (you can get them at your local grocery) can be an inexpensive and natural way to decrease herpes outbreaks. In addition, foods rich in arganine like peanuts, almonds, chocolate, beer, and dairy products should be limited.
Natural Cures: Herpes- Stage Two
The second stage is to decrease the number of the herpes virus that stay in our body after an outbreak. This can be done in a couple of ways. One way is to use a prescription anti-viral. I’ve never taken one of these, and have naturally gone from outbreaks every month, to over 8 months outbreak free by making a few small changes in my diet and lifestyle. However, they are effective for most people.
The second way is to use a natural treatment when you get an outbreak that will help your body destroy the virus, and can weaken it to the point that it can make fewer and fewer attacks. I personally use a product called Dynamiclear. When researching it on forums, it looked like most people were having very good luck with it, and many were claiming it stopped their outbreaks entirely. This is exactly what it’s done for me. As far as natural cures for herpes go, it’s the best I’ve used. It comes in a small bottle (a little bit goes a LONG way) and you simply apply it to the area when you get or think you are getting an outbreak. This helps to kill the virus at the site, and seems to reduce the duration and frequency of outbreaks greatly.
I hope this helps. These natural cures for herpes can help you live a normal, outbreak free life!

I'm all for natural treatments and controlling the virus through a good diet also. The side effects of perscription drugs are worst than the virus for me. I recently found a topical treatment called Herbal Quick Relief (www.quickhealingherb.com) that works well. It stops the itching and drys up the blisters rather quickly. With my diet changes, vitamins and supplements I now take, I have very few outbreaks.

One thing to watch out for when you are taking a lot of additional supplements, like the Lysine, is that you are not overdoing it, otherwise you can end up with bladder infections because of the overload of nutrients that your body doesn't need.
